A ballhawk's perspective on the goings-on OUTSIDE of Wrigley Field during the 2005 Chicago Cubs baseball season. What's that old saying about getting right back on the horse again? Well, Dusty didn't hesitate in sticking LaTroy Hawkins back out there today in the 9th inning, and it paid off with a quick 1-2-3 inning to preserve a Cubs victory for Carlos Zambrano. Of course, having a 4-0 lead is a little different than just a 3-2 lead (yesterday) but hey - this early in the season, we'll take whatever we can get.
Nothing of real note outside the park today. If I thought yesterday's BP was bad (only 5 then), today's was worse - only two total; both by the Cubs. But Jeremy Burnitz did smack the first Cubs game homer of the season today. Just barely made the first row of right-center bleachers but maybe that'll open the floodgates and the balls will start flying out of Wrigley, left and right. And maybe I'll lose 20 lbs, win the lottery, and regrow hair on my head. We'll see.... Saturday, April 9: BP-2 [W-2,S-0], Roof-0, Foul-0, HR-0 Season: BP-7 [W-7,S-0], Roof-0, Foul-0, HR-0
