All good things must come to an end - even a Cubs winning streak. Ok, ok, so one win ain't exactly a 'streak' but the way they've been playing lately, a win is a win.
But not tonight. And yes, LaTroy Hawkins had something to do with it, but I can't think of anything to say that hasn't been said already, so I'll stick to the good stuff - like batting practice and Southwest winds. With the Mets in town, Beltran, Floyd and Piazza didn't disappoint as they jacked quite a few onto Waveland and Sheffield. Unfortunately that trend did not continue during the game -- four homers in the game (3 Mets, 1 Cubs) but they all stayed in. And after the heavy rains came, I stayed in too - where it was nice and dry. I guess I've become a fair-weather ballhawk. Oh, the shame...
