Colorado is in town for a four game series - bringing with them the bats of Helton, Wilson, Hawpe, Holliday and Greene. Too bad they couldn't bring some of that Rocky Mountain thin air as well - that might liven up the baseball action out on Waveland and Sheffield.
Couldn't stay for the game, which the Rockies won, 5-2. Preston Wilson took one out late in the game, bouncing it off the top of a bus. That's all I saw on TV, but Rich tells me it ended up heading towards a squad car, so he went around one end of the car and some guy went around the other end, and the ball bounced towards the other guy instead of Rich. But Rich can take comfort in the fact that thanks to a little pre-game interview on the corner by Fox SportsNet Southwest, he is now known as "Papa Smurf" to all the viewers in the greater Denver area. And if you saw the blue shirt he was wearing on Thursday, you'd understand...
